At some point in everyone's life, they will need to ask a lawyer a question about a legal issue in their life. Often, it's hard to ask a lawyer whether or not you have a good case before retaining his services. This article will suggest several steps that could save you some money the next time you have to ask a lawyer a question.

Find a lawyer that gets paid when you get paid. Some lawyers arrange their practice so that the only money they make is a percentage of the money that they win for you. These lawyers are great to ask question to, because if they tell you that you don't have a case, you don't have to pay them for their services.

Post your question on a legal blog. There are many blogs available that exist so that people can ask a lawyer questions online for free. I've included a link to one of these blogs in the Resources section below. First, see if your question has already been asked, if not, simply post your question and wait for the answer!

Consider a prepaid legal plan. If you think that you will be needing legal services frequently, you may want to look in to paying for a prepaid legal service. For as little as $1/day you can subscribe to services which will provide legal advice whenever you need it. These plans aren't great deals for everyone, so make sure to read the fine print before signing an agreement.
